CascadiaTools worked example: Population viability analysis - count-based (diffusion / state-space) and matrix-model PVA
Module: pva

These data are SIMULATED, so the true answer is known. See README_data.md.

To try it:
  1. Unzip this folder somewhere you can find it.
  2. Open the folder in Claude Code (with the CascadiaTools plugin installed).
  3. Paste the prompt below.

Prompt:
I have 30 years of spring counts of breeding pairs for a shorebird (shorebird_breeding_pairs.csv; blank = no survey). The counts are surveys, so they're not exact. Please tell me whether the population is declining and how likely it is to drop to 40 breeding pairs or fewer within 10 and 25 years. I don't code, so please do the analysis and give me a report and figures I can use.

The analysis settings used for the published example are in config_state_space.yaml.
WALKTHROUGH.md shows every step the agent took and the results.
